Read-only personal admin assistant over work email and calendar

What they built

u/TripleSecretSquirrel manages a dozen or more projects at a time and struggles to track all the context, so they built an LLM-powered administrative assistant.

It has read-only access to work email and calendar, ingests emails into a personal knowledge wiki, surfaces to-dos, sends reminders, summarizes email and drafts replies on request.

Results & numbers

  • Described as extremely cheap in compute

Gotchas

  • Constantly being reworked, so it's rarely actually running

Do it yourself

  1. Give the assistant read-only IMAP and CalDAV credentials
  2. Summarize each new email into a per-project wiki page
  3. Run a daily job that extracts action items and due dates into reminders
  4. Keep drafting on request only, never auto-send
